EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (October 25, 2021) — University Orthopedics, one of the largest, most comprehensive orthopedic practices in the region, is thrilled to announce board-certified orthopedic surgeon Ross Budacki is joining its Sports Medicine division.
“Dr. Budacki comes to us from Newport Orthopedics, where he has a proven track record of providing world-class, compassionate orthopedic care to his patients,” said Edward Akelman, M.D., President of University Orthopedics. “The skill and knowledge he brings to our practice will only serve to solidify our Sports Medicine team as the most comprehensive in the region.”
Dr. Budacki is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon who treats patients with a wide variety of injuries from simple sprains and strains all the way up to complex, traumatic injuries involving the shoulder, knee, hip, hand, wrist, and elbow. He also serves as clinical assistant professor orthopaedics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
“One of the things I enjoy most as a doctor is listening to each patient, getting to know them, and determining how we can work together as a team to get them back to their favorite activities,” Dr. Budacki said. “Teamwork is also one of the things that attracted me to University Orthopedics – a renowned practice with dozens of surgeons, physicians, therapists, and other medical experts who all work together. It’s important knowing my patients will have access to cutting-edge, comprehensive care that’s also convenient.”
Dr. Budacki completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Prior to that, he earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed the residency program at Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia. During his fellowship, he served as the assistant team physician for Brown University’s Divison I football team and the Providence Bruins. Dr. Budacki is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
He will be seeing patients at University Orthopedics’ locations in Middletown, Portsmouth, and East Providence.
