After ACL Reconstruction, John’s Back on the Road

John was about to embark on the trip of a lifetime with his wife–a cross-country hiking and camping trip–when disaster struck.

While finishing a few last-minute tasks at home, John hurt his knee while stepping off a ladder. The pain was so bad, he passed out in his barn. When he came through, he continued work on his lawn but knew something was wrong.

When the pain persisted, John went to OrthoDirect in East Greenwich. He learned he tore his ACL and was referred to orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, Dr. Paul Fadale of University Orthopedics.

After Dr. Fadale told John it would be a huge mistake going, John canceled his trip and scheduled ACL reconstruction surgery.

John has always been very active and wasn’t willing to give up his lifestyle. He asked Dr. Fadale to treat him like an athlete.

Shortly after surgery, John began regular physical therapy sessions with Joe DeOrsey in UOI’s East Greenwich location.

John said Joe was a tremendous help in keeping him on track and motivated to get better.

After months of hard work, John recently hit the road, finally taking that trip with his wife.
