Connor’s myUOIstory: Back In the Scrum

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Connor was playing rugby for Salve Regina University’s club team when he suffered a complete ACL tear.

He went to see UOI’s Dr. Philip Salko right on campus, who confirmed Connor had a significant injury and referred him to orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ross Budacki. In his myUOIstory, Connor explains how was treated without ever having to leave Aquidneck Island. Now, he’s back in the scrum.

About Dr. Salko

Dr. Philip Salko specializes in primary care sports medicine and interventional pain management utilizing ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and other non-invasive modalities. He has advanced training in regenerative medicine techniques such as “Platelet Rich Plasma” injections and continues to teach on the subject.

Dr. Salko serves as the head team physician at Salve Regina University.

Dr. Budacki is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon who treats patients with a wide variety of injuries from simple sprains and strains all the way up to complex, traumatic injuries involving the shoulder, knee, hip, hand, wrist, and elbow. Dr. Budacki is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

He serves as clinical assistant professor orthopaedics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
