University Orthopedics was recently named among Providence Business News’ 2022 Best Places to Work.
This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in Rhode Island, benefiting the economy, workforce, and businesses in the state of Rhode Island. The list is made up of 69 companies.
Each of the companies and organizations recognized this year were judged based on human resources policies and completed confidential surveys of employees put together by Best Companies Group. The companies were also classified into four categories – small employers, mid-size employers, large employers, and enterprise employers – based on the companies’ employee counts in the region.
University Orthopedics was one of the businesses listed in the Enterprise employer category – which includes companies with 500 or more employees in the region.
“As the backbone of University Orthopedics, our employees are absolutely vital to ensuring every single patient receives the best care possible. We are staunchly committed to fostering an environment that makes them feel supported and valued. It’s incredibly rewarding and validating to know those efforts have been so well received by our employees,” said UOI’s Director of Human Resources, Kimberly D. Mittelsteadt, CHCO.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in the state of Rhode Island;
- Have a minimum of 15 employees working in the state of Rhode Island;
- Must be in business a minimum of one year.
The company rankings for each category will be announced on June 8 during a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.
