University Orthopedics surgeon Vanessa Lund, MD, has been selected to join the American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s (ASSH) 2021 “Young Leaders Program.”
This prestigious and competitive program gives enthusiastic and dedicated young ASSH members the chance to increase their involvement in the Hand Society through research and training programs and participation in ASSH governance activities.
Dr. Lund, a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity specialist with University Orthopedics – will begin the program this month and participate in Young Leaders Program meetings and activities through December.
“I am humbled and delighted to be chosen for the Young Leaders program,” said Dr. Lund. “In this role, I will work with other hand and arm surgeons across the country to find ways to improve patient care and education, and to support hand and arm surgeons in the crucial work they do. I am very excited about this opportunity and grateful to have been selected for it.”
Dr. Lund – who is also on staff at Morton Hospital in Taunton – attended medical school at Drexel University. She completed her residency training at Tufts Medical Center, as well as a fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center.
