In his 70s, Andy Becomes Competitive Pickleball Player After Shoulder, Knee Replacements at UOI

Andy had been active his whole life until knee and shoulder pain made it difficult for him to do the things he loved.

He turned to the team at University Orthopedics for relief. His physicians – Dr. Eric Cohen, an adult reconstruction surgeon; and Dr. Andrew Green, a shoulder and upper extremity surgeon – worked together and coordinated Andy’s care. This allowed him to have knee and shoulder surgery close together – cutting down on the total recovery time. When he got the all-clear, Andy decided to try his hand at pickleball. Within a year, he went from a novice to a championship-winning player.
