UOI Charitable Giving Committee Spreads Holiday Cheer, Delivering Gifts to Dozens of Local Children

With wish lists for dozens of children in hand, Helena Cabral – site manager for University Orthopedics’ East Greenwich location – and physical therapy receptionist Barbara Brennon recently hit the stores over the course of several days.

Their task – buy more than 200 gifts for the 34 children UOI’s Charitable Giving Committee sponsored for the holidays, with each child receiving clothes and toys of their choice.

Keeping with a holiday tradition, the Committee partnered with the Comprehensive Community Action Program in Cranston to adopt 15 families. Sherry Diaz, CCAP’s VP of Social Services, helped Committee members organize the event.

UOI employees pitched in,  volunteering their lunchtime on December 14 for gift-wrapping sessions at Kettle Point and East Greenwich locations. Once all 200+ gifts were wrapped, Kenia Aldana from Human Resources accompanied Cabral to deliver the gifts to CCAP two days later.
