UOI’s Charitable Giving Committee Spreads Holiday Cheer to 40 Kids and Their Families

Believing no one – especially children – should go without during the holidays, University Orthopedics’ Charitable Giving Committee continued a holiday tradition to make the season just a bit brighter for some local families in need.

The CGC adopted 15 families – including 40 children – from Comprehensive Community Action Program in Cranston. UOI Charitable Giving Committee organized the event with the help of Sherry Dias, CCAP’s VP of Social Services.

University Orthopedics’ employees Kenia Aldana and Helena Cabral spent a few days shopping for gifts, providing each child with clothes and toys of their choice. A team of employees then volunteered their time during a gift wrapping night at UOI’s Kettle Point and East Greenwich locations. When all was said and done, they wrapped more than 400 gifts, which were delivered to CCAP for distribution.
